  • Audio-Technica’s ATH-M40x headphones are perfect for DJs, producers, and audio engineers alike. These ‘phones feature 40mm neodymium magnet drivers that deliver a flat, accurate frequency response needed to make sound decisions in your tracks. The closed-back design of the ATH-M40x gives you superior isolation with minimal bleed, while the circumaural earpads give you cushy comfort during long sessions. Factor in their space-saving collapsible design, swivel earcups, and detachable cable (the ATH-M40x comes with both straight and coiled cables), and you’ve got a winner. Introduce these cans to your setup for an optimal mixing and monitoring experience no matter where you are.

Flat, Accurate Sound

The drivers and headphone design work together to provide a sonic signature tuned flat for accurate sound monitoring across the entire frequency range. With a frequency response of 15 Hz to 24 kHz, the ATH-M40x can reproduce a full spectrum of tones.

40mm Drivers

The ATH-M40x features 40mm dynamic drivers with rare earth (neodymium) magnets and CCAW (copper-clad aluminum wire) voice coils for high-quality sound reproduction.

Over-Ear, Sound-Isolating Design

The ATH-M40x utilizes a circumaural design that contours around the ears for excellent sound isolation in loud environments. This over-ear, closed-back style is optimal for reducing bleed and separating you from outside sounds.

Two Detachable Single-Sided Cables

To expand its versatility, the ATH-M40x incorporates a detachable cable design that exits from the left side. This enables convenient cable swapping and makes it easier to distinguish the different sides of the headphone. Two cables are included—a 3.9 to 9.8′ coiled cable and a 9.8′ straight cable.
